remember when i made that post about the gross orgy that was supposed to be held at the main con hotel during Youmacon and someone got mad at me for ruining everyone’s fun and kinkshaming..yea..

if you get enough users together on one site, of course there’s going to be a lot of shitty people, it’s inevitable
it is easier to avoid shitty people on tumblr though, since you can choose who you follow. 4chan has spotty moderation and anonymous posting which makes some of the boards pretty unbearable.
though it is scarier to encounter bad people on tumblr especially if they’re a sexual predator, they’re not just some anonymous, disembodied text on a screen you can see them interacting with and preying on 14 year olds and how easy it is for them to do that because of the nature of the site, so…
but neither of those sites are monolithic things where everyone is the same way no matter where u go, like, the “personality” of each 4chan board varies as widely as it does in each area of tumblr. There’s a lot of people and blogs and a lot of different boards and subcultures..idk i’m just kind of rambling
