People always dislike Tidus for being whiny and childish, but those aspects of his character are actually a really important part of his role in the game in my opinion ;w;; Having the narrative told from his point of view really accentuates the themes of the story and his character also serves as a foil to Yuna, who is shown to be docile, unwavering and wise in comparison. The whole dynamic of Tidus and Yuna’s relationship is based on how their respective dispositions can be compared to the Sun and Moon. Tidus is (sometimes obnoxiously) cheerful and fervid and Yuna is all calm and has a silent determination and this contrast makes their interactions really fun!!! If the story were told from the eyes of someone who wasn’t as naive as Tidus then it wouldn’t nearly have as much impact as it did (on me at least). The scene where Tidus totally breaks down after he finally learns the truth about Yuna’s fate is really powerful because of how you spent pretty much the whole journey up until that point seeing things from his naive point of view, thinking “ha it’s just a cute little adventure and when theyre done they can all han g out and have fun!!" then suddenly it just hits you!!! and you’re like “wHAT?? WHY DOES THIS CHARACTER HAVE TO DIE?? THAT’S NOT FAIR" and u can really relate to tidus who is crying like a little fagot and pounding his fists on the ground because u were left in the dark the whole time just like him and don’t understand anything either!! and then in that scene the game cuts back to previous scenes where tidus made a total ass of himself because he didn’t know about stuff!! and that really adds weight to it!!  it’s just perfect!! and that’s why that scene makes me cry without fail every time!!! 
There’s also the fact that Tidus starts out like a diaper babby but the point is that he GROWS throughout the story, and u grow with him as you learn more about the world and what’s going on around you. Through learning of the severity of Yuna’s journey and the devastation that Spira faces because of the floating whale monster, Tidus matures!! and he becomes heroic!
It’s very fun!! I love this game and its story aaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

yes  esyyes yesy yes yes yes yes love is such a beautiful emotion and I’m so glad my brain can experience it!! whether it’s love for cute animals, family, a cool oniichin, etc, it feels good and it’s a big part of what makes us human : ^)

ah definitely. Mostly because I have cripplingly low self esteem and I see myself as a creepy, annoying faglord who sounds like the psychic lady from Poltergeist
