La Russie de l'est et le Kamtchatka, bien connu des amateurs de Risk, fête ensuite le nouvel an. La photo montre les coubres incroyables dans les nuages créés par le relief d'îles volcaniques.

Eastern-most Russia is next to arrive in 2021. Waves in the clouds created by a string of volcanic islands in Kamchatka. The picture is not good but the effect was amazing to see.

Un Noël d'astronaute... vous avez sans doute déjà vu des vidéos d'unboxing, qui font fureur sur le web, et bien voici la version spatiale ;) Chaque équipement lancé en orbite doit résister aux accélérations et aux vibrations du lancement, sans compter les changements de pression qui peuvent arriver. Un élément aussi fragile et vital qu'un scaphandre ne fait pas exception, bien au contraire, il a sa boîte dédiée ! Et comme pour tout le reste, on se familiarise avec le matériel et comment l'utiliser, pour pouvoir réceptionner un nouveau scaphandre durant notre mission, et empaqueter un ancien qui sera redescendu pour être révisé ! J'en profite pour vous souhaiter à toutes et à tous un joyeux Noël ! :gift::christmas_tree:

Astronaut unboxing pics ;) Ever wonder how a spacesuit gets to space? Well it starts in a box, like your internet orders, but a bit more complicated. Aki and I are having "SLE Ops" training here, or which stands for operations for the "Short EMU Launch Enclosure". EMU is the NASA acronym for our spacewalk suits, and the Short Launch Enclosure, is a fancy way of saying, the box used to store a spacesuit torso during launch. Everything needs to be thought of in detail for human spaceflight and this is no ordinary box, it protects the spacesuit from launch vibrations, and pressure building up. We had a session to understand how it works and how we will unpack (and repack for return) spacesuit torsos in microgravity on the International Space Station.
