Cabo San Lucas, au bout de la péninsule de Basse-Californie. J’aime l’effet de perspective que donnent les nuages. La péninsule de Basse-Californie s'étend sur plus de 1000 kilomètres. Comme son nom le laisse deviner, cet étonnant bout de terre possède 2 côtes : une sur l'océan Pacifique à l'ouest, et l'autre sur le Golfe de Californie à l'est. Bien que ces photos aient été prises lors de 2 passages différents, les formations nuageuses au dessus de Cabo San Lucas sont assez similaires, pas banal pour une région aussi ensoleillée.

Cabo San Lucas at the souther tip of Baja California. I love the added sense of perspective and height the clouds give. It makes me want to fly around them in an aircraft. The Baja California peninsula, such an interesting piece of land, stretching 1000 km long with water on each side. Although these two pictures were taken at different times the zoom on Cabo San Luca shows similar clouds formations, I wonder if they are common in the area.

Bologne en Italie. La ville a une forme très caractéristique, entre les murs de la vieille ville et la banlieue plus récente qui s’étend au sud. C'est ici que se trouve la plus ancienne université d'Europe, il me semble que l’anecdote est appropriée pour une semaine de rentrée scolaire !

Bologna, Italy, has a very characteristic shape, with the walls of the old city visible and the newer suburbs extending and enveloping the hills to the South. The area has the oldest university in Europe and as schools are opening this week, hopefully without distance-learning after covid, it seemed like a good picture to share. Stay safe, stay smart, and never stop learning!

Ici on aime les acronymes : l’autre nom du bras robotique Canadarm2, c’est SSRMS. Le manipulateur robotique encore plus compliqué, qui a 2 bras et s’installe à l’extrémité de l’autre, c’est DEXTRE. Avec leur lumière rouge, devant notre hublot, ils donnent parfois l’impression d’être sur le pont d’un bateau qui voguerait de nuit.

The SSRMS, also known as Canadarm2 for those who don't like acronyms, and DEXTRE, the two-armed smaller robot, hanging out in front of our window and lighting up their red lights at night. Feels like the deck of a ship in the night!
