Italy at night but with sunlight illuminating the horizon. My buddy and fellow ESA astronaut Luca Parmitano has his roots in Catania, Sicily. He always talks about it fondly (in true Luca style without ever stopping and very poetically :blush:) but he has never taken me there to visit! I have been to many other places in Italy and always enjoy the food and culture. Happy Birthday mon ami!

Milan, the largest Northern city of Italy. The faintest hints of clouds cannot hide all the landmarks of this bustling city: Duomo, castle, hippodrome and the Inter Milan / AC Milan stadium. The Po valley with some interesting cloud cover. You can clearly see the difference in terrain between the alps and the sea. As well as the different shades of blue on the west coast and east coast see. My buddy and fellow ESA astronaut Luca Parmitano has his roots in Catania, Sicily.
