Don’t be surprised when you live on the International Space Station: people sleep in the floor and can pop their head out at any moment (there’s someone sleeping in the celling too!).

Il ne faut pas être cardiaque sur la Station : un astronaute peut surgir de sa tanière (pardon – de sa cabine) quand on s’y attend le moins, et il y en a installées aussi bien au sol qu’au plafond !

I always think the clay courts of Roland Garros look somewhat like Mars… With my dad being volunteer president of a local tennis club we saw quite a few finals on :television: in my youth!

J'ai toujours trouvé que la terre battue de Roland Garros avait un petit côté martien... pas vous ? :thinking_face: et avec mon père président bénévole d’un club de tennis, autant dire qu’on en a vu des finales (à la télé) Bonne chance :cz:, :ru:!

These two pictures show random clouds, and they are nothing particularly exceptional for a view up here, but they have nice colours. They highlight an aspect of being on the International Space Station. Every 90 minutes we do a complete circle of Earth, and our planet is so beautiful even standard clouds are interesting. So even if I only had 90 minutes of free time a week, and I spend it looking out of Cupola, I could easily snap 90 pictures, but often even more! Clouds, sea, Earth art, cities at night, volcanoes, they all revolve continuously below us.

Aujourd’hui comme tous les samedis, c’est corvée ménage sur la Station. Comme sur un navire, il faut tout briquer pour garder l’ensemble en bon état ! Mark a dégainé l'aspirateur, ici pour s'attaquer à la paroi lisse et quasiment dénuée de câbles et d’équipements du laboratoire européen, mais il s'est aussi occupé des murs plus encombrés. Les poussières ont tendance à finir leur flottaison dans les coins et près des bouches d’aération, donc on prête une attention particulière à ces endroits – on a tendance d’ailleurs à y retrouver, le samedi, les objets qu’on laisse échapper en semaine. Un petit côté Ghostbusters non ?
Saturday is cleaning day, and Mark demonstrates micro-g vacuum cleaning in the nicely tidy European Columbus laboratory. We clean carefully because dust never settles as it does on Earth, and floats around for longer and gets stuck in the corners or near air vents (or until Mark gets it in the vacuum cleaner!). We tend to find lots of “misfloated” objects on Saturday that we lose throughout the week! Who you gonna call? Dustbusters!
