A UK minister proposed to ban companies from offering solid encryption, but the plan was quickly quashed.

Bravo to those that opposed this. The casualties of the small recent terrorist attack on Parliament were insignificant compared to those of the accidents that happen in Britain every day, but those who advocate total surveillance will seize on them as an opportunity.
