Medicaid

mercredi 5 avril 2017 à 02:00

Republicans seek to make Medicaid require a drug test, or even exclude people without jobs.

More and more Americans have no jobs, because the economy has no room for them. They are not included in the official unemployment rate because they have given up looking for work (usually because they know full well they wouldn't find any).

More and more Americans turn to drugs to escape from despair. I can't understand them — I felt plenty of despair, but the idea of becoming an addict was never tempting. But it's a fact that they do. There is never a justification for imposing drug tests, except when a driver appears to be dangerously intoxicated.

This scheme amounts to a plan to kill many poor Americans, which will be an increasing fraction of Americans as the plutocrats reduce the share of income that goes to everyone else.

If your relative dies because the rich made per poor or denied per medical care, think of it as murder. Indeed, why not hold the funeral as a protest rally? Go out on the street chanting, "Republicans murdered my ____".

This is not to claim that Democrats are necessarily better. We should select the ones like Sanders that oppose plutocracy, and reject the ones like Clinton that support it.
