Advance registration is now closed, but you can register on-site at LibrePlanet 2018, starting at 09:00 on the ground floor of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology's Stata Center, 32 Vassar Street, Cambridge, MA. Admission is gratis for FSF Associate Members and students, and for all others costs $60 for one day or $90 for both days.

If you are unable to attend, or know people who cannot attend LibrePlanet 2018 but want to participate, watch the livestream, which you can do using exclusively free software (an unfortunate rarity!)

We want to alert you to a schedule change: unfortunately, keynote speaker Gabriella Coleman had to cancel her LibrePlanet talk. She will be sorely missed, but we are glad to announce that free software technologist, social scientist, and FSF board member Benjamin Mako Hill will fill in. We are proud to present the tenth anniversary LibrePlanet conference, and there are lots of events to check out beyond the talk schedule, beginning Friday, March 23rd. Some of these events may recommend or require advance registration, so doublecheck the details to make sure you get a seat:

• On Friday, March 23rd, before LibrePlanet 2018 begins, the Free Software Foundation's (FSF) annual open house will take place at 51 Franklin Street, Boston, MA, 02110, from 17:00-19:30. All are welcome! Beat the Saturday morning rush by visiting the LibrePlanet advance registration and check-in table at the open house.

• On Friday at 19:45, at Hei La Moon, 88 Beach Street, Boston, IBM is generously sponsoring a dinner for all women, genderqueer, non-binary, and gender non-conforming people interested in free software -- the Welcome Dinner! You don't need to be registered for LibrePlanet in order to attend. Please RSVP, to allow us to book enough seating.

• If you would like to self-organize a dinner with other LibrePlanet attendees, please do so on the LibrePlanet wiki.

• On Sunday, March 25th, from 12:35-13:35, the annual FSF Associate Members meeting will be held in room 32-155 in the Stata Center. All FSF Associate Members are welcome. Please RSVP on the LibrePlanet wiki for lunch.

• On Monday, March 26th, Lothar Becker of The Document Foundation will host a LibreOffice Certification-focused workshop at the Boston Nonprofit Center, 89 South Street, Boston, MA, 02111, from 09:30-13:30. This workshop is open to FSF Associate Members gratis, but due to limited space, you must book your seat in advance by emailing certification@libreoffice.org.

• Also on Monday, Programmable Publishing: Digital Humanities for Everyone will be offered at the Red Hat office, 300 A Street, 4th floor, Boston, MA 02110, from 09:00-12:00. This workshop will teach basic programming skills to humanities students and scholars without a background in math or computer science. Using the Racket programming language, the user-friendly text editor DrRacket, and the markup language Scribble, participants will learn how to write an academic paper from start to finish, which can then be exported to HTML and PDF.
