Voilà à quoi ressemble l’intérieur de l’HTV. 2600 kg de science, d’équipements et de provisions, le tout soigneusement emballé et sanglé pour résister au décollage ! Après avoir équilibré la pression et ouvert l’écoutille, on peut enfin pénétrer pour la première fois dans le véhicule, mais non sans porter un masque et prendre des échantillonnages d’atmosphère. Vigilance constante ! [= Harry Potter reference] De la poussière ou de petits débris pourraient en effet se balader et représenter un danger pour notre équipage. L’atmosphère pourrait quant à elle être polluée d’une manière ou d’une autre. Ça n’a pas été le cas avec notre HTV6, absolument intact d’après notre inspection !

This is what the inside of the HTV looks like. 2600 kg of science, equipment and supplies, very neatly packed and strapped to resist a launch to space! For first ingress into a cargo vehicle – after we equalise the pressure and open the hatch – we always wear a mask and take samples of the atmosphere. Safety first! Some dust or small debris could have gotten loose and become a hazard for the crew, and the atmosphere might be somehow polluted. Not the case with our pristine HTV-6!
