Le Canadarm-2 au repos :sleeping: C’est un élément majeur de la Station spatiale : sans lui, son assemblage aurait été beaucoup plus compliqué, voire carrément impossible. On le contrôle en général depuis l’intérieur de la Station, par exemple pour assister les astronautes lors de sorties extravéhiculaires, pour capturer des vaisseaux cargo ou pour déplacer du matériel. Mais il peut aussi être contrôlé à distance depuis un centre de contrôle au Canada ou à Houston ! De cette façon il peut travailler quand on dort, par exemple pour inspecter la Station depuis l’extérieur :sunglasses:

Here is the Space Station's robotic arm in rest mode :blush: It deserves it as it practically built the Space Station. It is 17 m long and awesome. I somehow thought it was posing for this picture which is why I took it. Although we operate it from up here to move our colleagues around the Station on spacewalks, to capture visiting cargo vessels and to move hardware around, the arm can also be controlled from mission control in Montreal, Canada. This way the arm moves around and inspects the Station's exterior taking photos and even installing hardware without us doing anything up here – even while we sleep! Interesting things are always happening on the Space Station.
