A picture I took from the Russian segment: they have very good windows including windows facing to the sides of ISS (we only have nadir-pointing windows on the US segment: it’s hard to look up and get a good shot of the sky. Here I got lucky as the moon was passing by and I had my long lens at the ready. The blueish picture is when it was still low and the sky was not yet dark. It turned into its black and white self only moments later. I’m always amazed by planets: giants bowling bowls just suspended in space… it has something entirely magical. The Moon is set to get less mystical with the Artemis programme to land humans on the Moon soon, and a full telecommunications and navigations system of satellites, called Moonlight planned too. La Lune sur un cliché bleui par les dernières lueurs du crépuscule, avant que le soleil ne disparaisse totalement derrière la Terre, et quelques instants après, enveloppée par l’obscurité. J’ai pris ces photos depuis le segment russe de la Station. Il comporte des hublots sur les côtés en plus de ceux qui font face à la Terre, bien plus pratiques pour une vue sur l’espace et la Lune en particulier. Il ne vous aura pas échappé que l’on retourne sur la Lune dans quelques années, avec des ambitions plus grandes et des dispositifs de science-fiction : Station en orbite, utilisation des ressources in-situ, mise en place du système de navigation et de télécommunications par satellite Moonlight… C’est presque demain !
