The progressive Better Off Budget is full of what America needs, including some tax increases on the rich and on speculators.

The proponents say it will cut the deficit too, but I hope it won't do that in the short term. What we need now is increased deficit spending; later, having spent our way out of the problem, we should run a surplus to pay back that borrowing.
