Putin threatened to attack Sweden and Finland if they join NATO.

A week ago he was describing NATO as a threat so powerful that he was compelled to attack Ukraine to forestall its joining NATO. Now he treats NATO as so weak that that he can bully countries not to join it by threatening war against them. There is a fundamental contradiction here.

But what he says is not meant to be valid. It is all part of bullying.
