Senate Republicans seem to be feeling pressure to compromise on a new relief bill, but they are yielding only a little.

Those include giving businesses immunity for dangerous working conditions that let workers transmit Covid-19, and cutting Social Security in the future. They would do lasting harm, and we should not agree to them in exchange for temporary aid. In the long term, that would be a change for the worse.
