The Republicans in the House are killing the immigration bill.

I'm in favor of offering immigrants without papers a path to citizenship, but the immigration bill has another provision which would require employees to have state-issued ID cards, making them in effect almost national ID cards. I thing this is a change in the wrong direction.

If we don't want a surveillance state, we must start opposing and reversing surveillance measures.
