On Jan 6, when Pence was at the Capitol, Secret Service agents tried to put him into a limo and take him to a "secure location". That would have achieved the wrecker's goal of sabotaging the formal election count.

Pence refused to enter the limo, and made it clear it was so he could continue with an honest count.
