Online sales stores are working together to use personal profiles to mislead the public about what the normal price of products is. They arrange to give people the idea that they are getting a discount, when in fact they are paying extra.

This is so pervasive that the concept of "the" price (for a given product) may no longer make sense.

Economists claim that the market is excellent because it determines the proper price for each good. I wonder if they are worried about this.
