New York City was forced to stop systematically searching blacks on the street and stop infiltrating informers into Muslim communities. The result: less crime than ever.

Sad to say, New York City has not abandoned massive surveillance in general. That keeps getting worse. I fear that they are setting up to track everyone around the streets by face recognition, using the surveillance cameras that are supposedly to "protect" us.
