A new US law redirects NOAA's funding towards weather forecasting. Since it doesn't give NOAA more money, this money has been taken away from something. What, I wonder? Could it be climate science, perhaps? Is the idea to make good 2-month and 2-year forecasts, at the expense of the 20-year and 40-year forecasts our civilization will live or die by?
