Rep. Ocasio-Cortez and Senator Markey have proposed a Green New Deal resolution which states a set of goals. The precise plan to achieve them will be drawn up over the next two years. This is intended to create pressure on Pelosi to drop her opposition to the idea.

The proposed resolution does not talk directly about cutting down use of fossil fuels; it needs to do that.
