Congressional leaders have reached a "compromise" with the bully that gives him 1/5 of the funds he demanded to build the pointless border wall.

If he does this a few more times, he will get all he wanted.

Two lessons from this:

• "Meeting someone half way", or even 1/5 of the way, if he will have a chance to make more demands and be met 1/5 of the way again, is not a fair compromise.
• When your adversary demands painful changes, you should not make the status quo your negotiating goal. Instead, demand other changes that you want.

So the Democrats should have responded by demanding more funds for Planned Parenthood, in exchange for funds for the wall, and offered to meet the bully half way.
