Big Tech companies decided to crack down on right-wing mobs set on overthrowing the US government (or worse) just after they learned that Democrats would control the Senate. It could be a scheme to convince them not to break up those Big Tech companies.

I would guess that Big Tech is also working on acquiring a few Democratic senators to block anything that might reduce their power.
