New North American Trade Deal Has Bad News for Canadian Copyright.

I suggest Canada legislate that copyright last until either 70 years after the author's death, or such time as is at least 50 years after that death and this treaty is no longer in force — whichever comes first.

That way, the treaty will not have a lasting effect if it is cancelled.
