Based on his father's precedent in Homs, it would not be surprising if he kills everyone who remains in Aleppo.

Many of his opponents are jihadis, and just as bad. Lots of people have called for the US to "do something", but there has never been a clear something that the US could do in Syria that would result in a good outcome.
