Peter Jackson: "Le Hobbit est plus drôle que Le Seigneur des anneaux" - Studio Ciné Live

Une interview de 2012 à propos du Hobbit. Je retiendrai 2 choses.
« Heureusement, nous avions les droits des appendices du Seigneur des anneaux. Tolkien avait l'intention, dans les années 60, de réécrire Le Hobbit et de l'étoffer pour le "raccrocher" au Seigneur des anneaux. Il a écrit beaucoup de notes à ce sujet qu'on trouve à la fin du Retour du roi car il n'a jamais pu republier Le Hobbit de son vivant. »
En fait, ils ont fait ce que font toutes les industries du divertissement à propos des produits dérivés des Terres du Milieu, combler les trous. Je pense notamment à ce qu'a fait Turbine avec Lotro.
« Et la structure en trois films est beaucoup plus cohérente et permet de relier Le Hobbit au Seigneur des anneaux dans un ensemble homogène. »
Ça me paraissait évident à la vue du premier, content de lire que je ne me suis pas planté.
Quitte à me répéter, je pense qu'il faut voir le Hobbit pour ce qu'il est, une adaptation. Même si certains gimmicks hollywoodiens sont beaucoup plus présents que dans le SdA.
Mortensen explique un peu ça avec un point de vue un peu différent : « Also, Peter was always a geek in terms of technology but, once he had the means to do it, and the evolution of the technology really took off, he never looked back. In the first movie, yes, there’s Rivendell, and Mordor, but there’s sort of an organic quality to it, actors acting with each other, and real landscapes; it’s grittier. The second movie already started ballooning, for my taste, and then by the third one, there were a lot of special effects. It was grandiose, and all that, but whatever was subtle, in the first movie, gradually got lost in the second and third. Now with The Hobbit, one and two, it’s like that to the power of 10. »
