the romance genre in anime is really weird because it ranges from terrible and predictable hyper-sexual harem shows or shoujo-y shows where the focus is just on one couple or a few couples but everything progresses extremely slowly or it doesn’t even progress at all and suddenly it’s episode 20 and they’re like “DOUSHIO I DONT WANT TO HOLD HANDS THAT’S EMBARRASSING >.<” there are good examples of romance anime but it’s like finding a gem in a dimly-lit shit-cave and it’s frustrating!!!!!!!
