Quand on sait que le H.264 (ou MPEG-4 AVC) existe depuis un peu plus de 10 ans mais n'est pleinement supporté sur nos appareils que depuis peu, je me dis qu'il ne faudra pas être pressé... Rendez-vous dans 10 ans ?

The fossilized remains of a truly ancient dinosaur have been discovered in the north-Mexican state of Coahuila. Remarkably preserved for their estimated age of 72 million years, the 50 vertebrae that were dug up once formed the basis for a 15-foot tail that was attached to a 40-foot dinosaur. Although the researchers from Mexico's National Institute for Anthropology and History aren't yet certain of the species of dino involved, their early findings suggest it might have been a hadrosaur, also known as a duck-billed dinosaur.

This is the first discovery of its kind in Mexico, though the hard work of pinpointing the dinosaur tail's location was already done for the scientists by Coahuila locals. They alerted the archeologists back in June of last year and 20 days of diligent investigative work this summer produced the fully intact fossil. Now comes the hard work of studying the details of this massive tail and attempting to learn more about the era it came from.

Disney Research has developed an algorithm which can generate 3D computer models from 2D images in great detail, sufficient, it says, to meet the needs of video game and film makers. The technology requires multiple images to capture the scene from a variety of vantage points.

ElasticSearch est un moteur de recherche libre. Ça paraît plutôt sexy, vu comme ça et je me demande si ça pourrait pas répondre à la problématique sur la recherche inter-shaarli.

En outre, l'article en lui même est très bien écrit et permet d'en apprendre pas mal sur le fonctionnement "algorithmique" d'un moteur de recherche.

Suite au lien d'hier sur le redémarrage de serveur, Yann me signale l'existence d'un petit outil plutôt pratique : molly-guard.

Ah tiens, bien pratique pour éviter de redémarrer par erreur un serveur: molly-guard détecte que vous avez tapé certaines commandes (reboot, shutdown...) à travers une session ssh et vous demande de retaper le nom du host. Ça évite de faire des erreurs. (cf. http://sebsauvage.net/links/?6fES0g)
